4 trains on Pune-Lonavla route cancelled

Pune: Dealing a blow to the passengers of Pune-Lonavala railway section, four local trains has been cancelled from October 18 to 31 as the Railways has decided to implement a mega block.

As per information, work related to maintenance of tracks, repair and signalling system and work related to over head equipment (OHE) will be taken up during the mega block. According to railway officials, it is essential for safe travel.
 
As per a statement released by the Pune railway division, train number 99816 UP Pune to Lonavla which departs from Pune at 12.15 pm and arrive Lonavla at 1.45 pm, train number 99818 UP Pune-Lonavla which departs from Pune at 1 pm and arrives at Lonavla at 2.20 pm, train number 99813 DN Lonavla-Pune which departs from Lonvala at 2 pm and arrives at Pune at 3.25 pm, train number 99817 DN which departs from Lonavla at 3.40 pm and arrives at Pune at 5.05 pm will be cancelled.

During this period, only Pune-Karjat-Pune passenger train departing from Pune at 11.15 am and returning from Lonavla at 2.50 pm will be available for the passengers.

“During this period, the repair works of tracks will be carried out with three machines, removing old rubbles and replacing it with new ones. This work is especially necessary before the arrival of winter season. These rubbles  are generally replaced once in a decade. The maintenance work will be observed every day for three hours. The repair work of signalling system and OHE will done after the block. We request passengers to cooperate with us,” said Manoj Kumar Jhawar, spokesperson of the Pune railway division.
