4 cases of rape reported within 24 hours in Sangvi

PUNE: Four cases of rape were registered at Sangvi police station on Friday. All four different cases of similar nature occurred in the jurisdiction of Sangvi police station. In the first case, a minor girl was allegedly raped on the pretext of marriage. The girl was threatened and was assaulted by the accused if in case she reveals about the incident to anybody. The police have booked the accused Hari Rathod on charges of rape.

In the second incident, another minor girl was allegedly raped by a person identified as Ajay (full name is not mentioned in police records). A woman activist has reported the matter to police. In the third report, the police have booked a person identified as Ganesh Mhaske, a resident of Tadiwala Road for allegedly raping a minor girl after taking her to a lodge. The incident was reported to the police by the parents of the girl.

In the fourth incident, a 42-year-old woman was allegedly raped by  Santosh Mahale of Nashik on the pretext of marriage. The accused has also defrauded the woman of nearly Rs six lakh.
