PUNE: In all, 3,756 patients were screened at the Mumbai Airport for suspected Novel Coronavirus between January 18 and 26. However, the State Health Department has further intensified screening by including the passengers who have travelled to China before January 18.
Under the process, of the 3,756 patients, 15 were from Maharashtra. According to health department, four passengers were admitted to the Mumbai-based Kasturba Hospital in isolation ward. Two patients were at the isolation ward in Naidu Hospital, Pune. Of these six patients, three tested negative. The reports of the remaining are likely to come on Tuesday, said officials.
“Two patients have been admitted in the isolated ward of city based Naidu Hospital. They are suspected cases of nCoV as they have just returned from China,” said Dr Ramchandra Hankare, PMC health department chief. Their samples have been sent to National Institute of Virology for further testing.
The health department has also started a special helpline number 104 for the general public.
