3 push youth down from 11th flr, held

PUNE: A 24-year-old youth died after being allegedly pushed down from the 11th floor of a residential building in Kondhwa by three engineering students. One of the students had lent Rs 15,000 to the deceased who had reportedly failed to pay the money back. 

The deceased has been identified as Sagar Chilveri, a native of Solapur district, who worked at a bakery. Among the arrested, two are Chilveri’s roommates, Abhinav Jadhav and Akshay Korade. The third, Tejas Gujar, lived in a college hostel. 

According to the Kondhwa police, the incident took place between 1.45 am and 3 am on Tuesday. Chilveri was to return the loaned amount on Monday but after he failed to do so, there were heated arguments between them in the parking area of the building where they lived. After the security guard intervened, they went to the balcony of their 11th floor flat where during an argument, they pushed Chilveri down, said Senior Inspector Vinayak Gaikwad, in-charge of the police station.

The guards rushed him to a nearby hospital where he was declared brought dead.  

The police registered an FIR against the three and arrested them. They will be produced before the judicial magistrate court on Wednesday.

According to the Kondhwa police, the incident took place between 1.45 am and 3 am on Tuesday.
