Pune: Warje-Malwadi police have nabbed a history-sheeter and claimed to have recovered three pistols and 10 live cartridges from his possession.
The arrested accused has been identified as Nilkanth Suryakant Raut (38), a resident of Nigdi.
Acting on a tip-off received by Police Naik Ashish Botke, a Detection Branch team laid a trap outside Amrapali Hotel in Warje and arrested Nilkanth Raut in the wee hours of Friday.
According to the police, he has been named in several complaints of burglary and vehicle thefts. A magistrate court has remanded him in police custody till Monday.
The investigation team included Inspector (Crime) Prakash Khandekar, Sitaram Dhawde, ASI Jagannath Gore and policemen Maggi Jadhav, Amol Katkar, Arun Kite, Vijay Kamble, Nitin Jagdale, Tejas Pawar, Sandip Shelke, and Sachin Dhotre.
