Pune: Three persons were booked for causing death by negligence by the Vimantal police station after a youth drowned in a swimming pool on Sunday (May 26) in Kharadi.
According to the officials of the Vimantal police station, the deceased identified as Prateek Bansode (26) did not know to swim and had gone into the pool with his friend. The incident took place at noon at Kavya Swimming Pool in Kharadi.
According to the police, as the lifeguards failed to help Prateek, they had to lodge a case against three persons running the pool. Police officials said that Prateek should have been provided with adequate floating equipment which would have saved his life. The complaint in the case was lodged by the father of the deceased Ramesh Bansode. Police Sub-inspector A Atre is investigating the case. It must also be noted that Avinash Shiv Sharan (30) had drowned in a pool in Kharadi last year.
