10th edition of Symbhav kicks off

Pune: Symbiosis Law School (SLS), Pune, inaugurated the 10th edition of its five-day inter-collegiate annual cultural festival Symbhav ’18 on Wednesday.

The fest was inaugurated by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis in the presence of SB Mujumdar, Chancellor of SI (DU), Vidya 
Yeravdekar, Pro-Chancellor, SI(DU), Kartikey Chouhan, Convenor, Symbhav ’18 and president, student advisory board, 2017-18.  

The theme for this edition of the festival is ‘Global Village’. Shashikala Gurpur, Director of SLS, Pune, and Dean, faculty of law, Symbiosis International Deemed University, said, “A student-driven festival like Symbhav not only celebrates the creativity, but also instills among students a sense of responsibility, which drives them to become future leaders.” 

Symbhav 2018 is hosting approximately 3,000 participants across India, including 20 outstation (4 National Law Schools) and one international team (New Zealand). The 10th edition of Symbhav will host an array of 55 legal, sports and other cultural events.  

This time, it will showcase ‘the fallen beauty’, a dramatisation of Budhadev Karmaskar vs State of West Bengal, 2011 case on February 22 at 3.30 pm at SVC Auditorium. The play addresses issues pertaining to sex workers and the violation of their 
human rights.

Other attractions
The other major attraction of Symbhav 2018 are the pro nites, starring Farhan Akhtar with his band, playing for 90 minutes on February 23, Varun Thakur, the famous standup comedian and The Local Train- Band on February 24, and Candice Redding and Zaeden, International DJs on February 25.
