‘It is parents’ duty to teach kids equality’
Stakeholder meet held at Yashada for safety of women and children
Pune: Indian Police Foundation, BPR&D, CPR and Pune city police had jointly organised a stakeholders’ consultation on ‘Safety of Women and Children’ on Friday at Yashada.
Indian Police Foundation President N Ramachandran, actor Mrinal Kulkarni, Pune Commissioner of Police K Venkatesham, BPR&D Director General AP Maheshwari and MLC Neelam Gorhe were present.
The main aim of this pan-India consultation is to understand the concerns and implement better solutions. The data collected through these consultations will be submitted to the Ministry of Women and Child development.
Ramachandran said, “Different states have different concerns and issues in terms of women and child safety. With this consultation, we want go to a ground level to understand the issues better.”
Venkatesham said, “We would like to act upon the ideas given here to ensure better safety for women and children. We promise that with the help of insight, better actions will be taken.”
Kulkarni said, “It is the responsibility of all parents to teach their children that men and women are equal and everyone should be respected. Women are achieving excellence in all walks of life. It is very important to ensure that in their journey of achieving their dreams, they should be treated with respect and assured safety.”
