‘Krishiculture’ farmers’ fest to be held today

PUNE: The first of its kind ‘Krishiculture’, a festival for farmers, especially for women farmers, to showcase their expertise, smartness and skill required for sustainable farming, besides group development, community farming, group farming techniques and learning about the advanced technology, will be held at Deccan College Ground on Monday.

Organised by AP Globale Group, the festival will witness the participation of farmers from across the State. The information led cultural festival will be inaugurated by Skill Development, Labour and Earthquake Rehabilitation Minister Sambhaji Patil Nilangekar.

MCCIA, Chatur Ideas Excubator, National Innovation Foundation, Bolero Maxitruck Plus, Bolero Pick up, Godrej Agrovet, Indofil Industries Limited and Krishiking are the sponsors. 

Maharashtra Village Social Transformation Foundation CEO Shewta Shalini, Dr Punjabrao Deshmukh Agriculture University’s former vice-chancellor Venkyat Mayande, Agriculture Department former additional CEO Sudhirkumar Goyal, Sahyadri Farms Producer company’s President and Managing Director Vilas Shinde, Rural Relations Founder Pradeep Lokhande and Indofil Industries’ Production Manager Mahesh Pawar will give lectures during various sessions. 

Besides the technology experts, a session on success stories of neo entrepreneurs and women farmers will also be held. Similarly, we will get an opportunity to see the innovative research projects of the researchers associated with Rashtriya Navpravartan Pratishtan. There would be panel discussions and inspirational stories by the farmers.

The aim behind the festival includes sustainable farming and overall development of villages, introducing farmers to ideal farming techniques and newer technologies in the farming sector, paving way for becoming smart farmers. Encouraging community farming leading to the development of group farming methods and giving key for developing market linkages. 

A day-long festival will be inaugurated at 10.30 am and will end at 6.30 pm. 

The eventful festival will see many experts giving their opinions on sustainable farming, technology, modern techniques of farming and related fields. Also, an exhibition will be held, farmers will be felicitated, etc.
