Pune: After a request by the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) the Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Limited (PMPML) will run 60 buses on these 30 routes. The buses will start plying from May 26 from Pimpri, Nigdi and Bhosari Depot.
According to PMPML Traffic Manager Anant Waghmare, "A meeting was held on May 21 with PCMC commissioner and PMPML official it was decided to start bus service in MIDC and Pimpri-Chinchwad area. The buses are ready to start with following the zig-zag pattern and social distancing guidelines. The PMPML will run on the 30 routes with 60 buses. No private buses will run this route. The schedule has been already released for the depot managers, drivers and conductors. It has been instructed to follow the norms."
"Each bus will have only 21 passengers, the drivers and conductors will also make sure that passengers sitting inside the bus are using the masks. Apart from this, the depot managers have to ensure that buses should be cleaned and sanitised every day and the controller-cum-checker has to ensure that each bus will have only 21 passengers," said Waghmare.
