Pune: Yet again, it has been proved that the women are multi-taskers! As per a survey by Godrej Interio titled ‘Make Space For Life’, when it comes to balancing the work and life, about five out of seven (nearly 76 per cent) professional men miss out on living life their way as compared to more than three out of seven (54 per cent) professional women.
In recent years, men are increasingly playing the dual role of primary caregivers for young children besides being just the breadwinners of the family. A survey revealed that fathers have admitted that they spend more time caring for their children and undertaking household chores. At the same time, it is found that women are striking a better work-life balance as compared to their counterparts.
The survey was conducted on 1,300 Indians living across 13 cities including Chandigarh, Mumbai, Jaipur, Patna, Coimbatore, Pune, Lucknow, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Delhi, Chennai, Bengaluru, and Ahmedabad.
Godrej Interio Chief Operating Officer Anil Mathur said, “Interestingly, even though the HR policies across companies remain the same for both men and women, the women are better at maintaining a relatively healthy work-life balance.”
“As per our survey findings, with the pressure of work, technology and daily routine, men find less time and opportunities for themselves, family bonding, and their passion as compared to their women counterparts. The women have always been the guardians of the homes and through years of balancing multiple responsibilities for family members, they have acquired the life skill for management as well,” said Mathur.
