Unlock 3.0: Gyms can reopen, no schools till August end; check new guidelines

Check out what is allowed and what is not allowed in the Unlock 3.0

The central government on Wednesday declared the new guidelines in the Unlock 3.0. The third phase of the lockdown will see the opening of gyms andyoga institutes (out of containment zones) with night curfew has also been scrapped.

The guidelines comes when the country reports over 15 lakh cases in the country with daily spike growing close to 50,000. Most states, especially Maharashtra, Delhi, West Bengal which have had a large spike in cases, have imposed lockdown on and off over the past month. Lockdown remains in place around all containment zones, the extent of which will be sure by the states and Union Territories.

In the fresh Central guidelines issued on Wednesday, the government said schools, educational institutions and colleges will remain shut till the end of August. Check out what is allowed in the Unlock 3.0:

WHAT’S ALLOWED

  • Movement of individuals during night hours
  • Yoga institutes, gymnasiums will open from August 5 with a Standard Operating Procedure (SOPs) which will be declared by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW)
  • Independence Day can be celebrated  but with social distancing
  • International air travel of passengers has been allowed in a limited manner under the Vande Bharat mission.

WHAT’S NOT ALLOWED

  • Metro rail services
  • Swimming pools, entertainment barks, bars, theatres, cinema halls, assembly halls.
  • Social, political, entertainment, sports, religious functions and other large gatherings.
  • Those above 65 years of age, people with co-morbidities, pregnant women, and children below the age of 10 years, are advised to stay at home, except for meeting essential requirements and for health purposes.
