Srinagar: Upping the ante at Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti, National Conference (NC) working president Omar Abdullah said 'she has accepted her irrelevance in Kashmir today' by not being in the summer capital despite prevailing tense situation.
"It's amazing how @MehboobaMufti has accepted her irrelevance in Kashmir today. More than 24 hours after 3 fierce encounters & numerous deaths she still hasn't arrived back in Srinagar," Mr Abdullah wrote on micro-blogging site twitter.
"In fact Gov Vohra arrived in Srinagar first thing in the morning while @MehboobaMufti was happily ensconced in her plush Delhi bungalow," he added.
Normal life was on Monday crippled as shops and business establishments were closed and traffic was off the roads due to a strike called by separatists and restrictions imposed by authorities in Kashmir valley.
Four civilians died in security force action and 13 militants and three Army jawans were killed in three separate encounters in south Kashmir on Sunday. Over 50 civilians were also injured in the clashes near the encounter sites.
