Jyotiraditya Scindia, mother test positive for COVID-19

A BJP leader Jyotiraditya Scindia and his mother Madhavi Raje Scindia have tested positive for coronavirus. Both have been admitted to Max Hospital in Delhi.

Jyotiraditya Scindia along with his mother Madhavi Raje Scindia both have tested positive for the infection. The BJP leader has been admitted to Max Saket after he developed the symptoms of the coronavirus. While Jyotiraditya Scindia has reported symptoms of COVID-19, his mother remains asymptomatic. The duo are now receiving treatment at the private hospital in Delhi.

Earlier, BJP national spokesperson Sambit Patra had also shown indications of the infection and was admitted to the Medanta Hospital in Gurgaon. He was discharged on Monday.

The news about Jyotiraditya Scindia comes days before elections of the Rajya Sabha in Madhya Pradesh. Jyotiraditya has been nominated as a candidate for the polls.

From past few days, a number of senior leaders from BJP as well as other political parties have tested positive for the novel virus.

Earlier, Maharashtra state minister and former Chief Minister Ashok Chavan also were infected. Sanjay Jha, a senior Congress leader and spokesperson was also admitted to the hospital after he was found positive for the contagion.

Meanwhile, on Tuesday, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal also reported fever and sore throat. He remained under self-isolation for two days. The Delhi CM took the COVID-19 test today and his test reports are awaited.
