Fodder Scam: Arguments on quantum of sentencing completed for Lalu Yadav and 11 others
Ranchi: Arguments over quantum of sentencing in the Dumka Treasury case of the fodder scam was completed today for former Bihar Chief Minister and RJD supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav and other convicts in the case.
Lawyer of Yadav, Prabhat Kumar said that in his arguments before the judge he had pointed that his client was more than 70 years of age and has undergone operation on a past occasion.
He was also presently admitted at RIMS for treatment moreover he had been facing trail for the lasts several years therefore the court had been urged to adopt leniency while awarding the punishment.
On the other hands the lawyers of other convicts also urged the court to award lesser punishments to their respective clients in the case.
The court of special CBI judge had on Monday had convicted Yadav and 18 others in this case and had fixed March 21, 22 and 23 for hearing the arguments on the quantum of sentencing after which it is expected to announce its decision.
