Delhi Corona App: Track the availability of beds and ventilators

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal announced the launch of 'Delhi Corona' Application which will primarily provide information to the patients about the availability of ventilators and beds in both Government and Private hospitals.

Arvind Kejriwal said, "There are instances where people are complaining of a shortage of beds and medical facilities, so clearly there is a gap in information as even today around 4100 beds are still vacant."

Delhi Corona App is designed to bridge the communication gap between its citizens and the hospital; the status availability or non-availability can enhance the efficiency in the state.

"If a hospital refuses to supply your bed even when our app shows beds are available in that hospital, then you can call on 1031. Our Special Secretary will take action immediately and talk the hospital authorities to provide you with a bed on the spot," said Delhi CM. "We are four steps ahead of the virus," added Kejriwal.

The application comes in the time of distress when there is a constant surge in cases with Delhi being third on the list of 'worst-affected' states in the nation. Delhi Corona App will be updated twice a day, at 10 am and 6 pm respectively, giving people the status update on hospital beds and ventilators.

Delhi Minister, Satyendra Jain stated, "Delhi govt is preparing for at least one month in advance, as it doesn't look like the disease will end in the next few days. It is important to plan in advance."

Mr Kejriwal also requested people to adhere to doctor's instructions. Patients with mild symptoms can be treated at home, while people at risk need ventilators and hospital beds. Coronavirus cases in Delhi are reaching 20,000 with 473 deaths.
