Patanjali Ayurved's Swasari Coronil kit can now be used for "COVID management", claims Baba Ramdev. On Wednesday, at a press conference, Yog Guru Baba Ramdev announced that Patanjali's Coronil Kit will be available across the nation for consumption.
During his press conference address, he said, "AYUSH Ministry said that Patanjali has done appropriate work for COVID management. It said that Patanjali has started working in the right direction. We have procured a license for these medicines from the state department which is connected with AYUSH Ministry."
Further, he added, "Now, there is no restriction on Coronil, Swasari, Giloy, Tulsi, Ashwagandha. From today, these medicines (Swasari Coronil Kit) will be available in the country without any legal restrictions." Baba Ramdev thanked AYUSH ministry and Narendra Modi Govt for the approval.
On June 23, Ramdev's Patanjali launched 'Coronil' drug claiming that it shows 100 per cent recovery in COVID-19 patients. Patanjali said, after favourable clinical trials, Coronil also showed promising results.
Acharya Balkrishna, Patanjali's CEO took to Twitter to talk about Coronil drug, and he claimed, "We appointed a team of scientists after COVID-19 outbreak. Firstly, the simulation was done and compounds were identified which can fight the virus and stop its spread in the body. Then, we conducted a clinical case study on hundreds of positive patients and we have got 100 per cent favourable results."
However, the AYUSH ministry on the same day asked Patanjali to stop advertising the drug until all the necessary reports are evaluated. AYUSH also demanded paperwork for the drug licence that was produced to Patanjali by Uttarakhand Government.
An FIR was lodged against Baba Ramdev and Acharya Balkrishna by a social activist in Jaipur, for false claim about Coronil drug as the cure for COVID-19.
Addressing all the obstacles he faced last week after launching Coronil kit, he said, "It seems that work of Yog and Ayurved inside India is a crime." Furthermore, to justify the credibility, he added, "We have a team of 500 scientists who are working day and night. We have showcased data of our clinical trials on coronavirus, it has hit hard drug mafia, MNCs, forces which were working against swadeshi."
