Congratulations India, says Rhea Chakraborty's father on Showik's custody

Bollywood Actor Rhea Chakraborty's father Indrajit Chakraborty delivered a statement accusing the arrest of his son Showik Chakraborty in an investigation into accusations of drug abuse surrounding late Sushant Singh Rajput's death in June.

In a statement, he said, "Congratulations, India. You’ve arrested my son, I'm sure my daughter is next on the line. You’ve effectively demolished a middle class family. Ofcourse, for the sake of Justice everything is justified. Jai Hind.”

Indrajit has also been grilled by the CBI for days in connection with the case. His 24-year-old son Showik was arrested by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) in connection with probe into allegations of drug abuse linked to Sushant’ death. Both Showik and Samuel Miranda have been arrested by the NCB under various sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.

The Kai Po Che actor died by suicide on June 14 at his residence in Mumbai, after which the Mumbai Police began investigation into the case. In July, KK Singh, father of the late actor, filed an FIR in Bihar, accusing Sushant’s girlfriend, Rhea and her family, of abetment to suicide and tapping off his funds. In her defence, Rhea disproved all charges charged against her and her family. After a Supreme Court verdict last month, the case was transferred to Central Bureau of Investigation.
