BJP Karnal leader Chandra Prakash Kathuria expelled for 6 years

The Bharatiya Janata Party ( BJP) has for six years removed its representative from the Haryana Karnal, Chander Parkash Kathuria, from the party's primary membership.

However, the reason for Kathuria's expulsion from the BJP was not stated in the letter issued by Subhash Barala, President of the state unit.

The action against Kathuria was taken two days after a video surfaced on social media showing him allegedly falling down from an apartment building in Sector 63 of Chandigarh while trying to come down with a piece of cloth.

"Yeah, he was expelled from the party for six years on the basis of a video that posed questions about his character," said Jagmohan Anand, president of the Karnal district unit at the BJP.

For his reaction over his expulsion from the BJP, Kathuria did not respond to phone calls and text messages from that reporter.

He reportedly broke his foot while struggling to come down the balcony, and was admitted to the Chandigarh Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER).

The purpose of his attempts to escape the balcony could not yet be verified.

However, Sources said he was visiting a woman for some formal work and another person was visiting the flat. Kathuria didn't want to see the person visiting him so he tried to climb down from the balcony on the second floor but lost his balance and fell down.

Sugerfed's former chairman, the 51-year-old chief, was a special invitee from the BJP's state executive committee.

During the last parliamentary election, Kathuria, who comes from Sector 13 during Karnal, sought BJP ticket from the Karnal Lok Sabha seat.

He also unsuccessfully contested the Karnal assembly election on BJP ticket in 2009.
