Yukrand warns govt of stir from Sept 2

Pune: While the teachers’ recruitment in the State was finally on the go after nine long years, the problems surrounding it do not seem to end. Yuvak Kranti Dal (Yukrand), on Tuesday, intimated the State Government that if the deserving candidates from the last recruitment drive were not recruited first, the organisation will start a protest from September 2.

“While the teachers’ recruitment had been paused for a long time, the State Government carried out a recruitment drive in 2010. Here, the Aurangabad Bench of Bombay High Court had ordered the recruitment of 3,139 eligible candidates, out of which the postings of 251 candidates was still pending,” said Sandeep Barve of Yukrand. After a successful protest on August 19,  Education Director (Primary) Dattatray Jagtap assured Yukrand that these candidates would be considered.

“If they fail to keep their promise, we would start a protest again on September 2,” he said. Meanwhile, close to 100 candidates who had been battling for recruitment through Pavitra portal had flocked to the Education Commissioner’s office in Pune, on Tuesday, regarding the issues of parallel reservations.

“In many cases, despite making the cut for Open Category merit-wise, many OBC candidates have deliberately been selected for OBC-reserved posts. Similarly, several posts reserved for the disaster-affected candidates have been allotted to other reserved-quota candidates,” Santosh Magar of DTEd BEd Students Association said.

“We will continue to fight until all our demands are met for a successful recruitment drive,” added Magar.
