Ajit Pawar said the ‘conflict’ in BJP-Shiv Sena, mismanagement in seat-sharing, rebels in the alliance and difference within the party leaders are the reasons for his prediction. Pawar also appealed to the citizens to defeat the saffron alliance.

PUNE: Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) senior leader Ajit Pawar predicted that the Congress-NCP alliance will win 175 seats in the forthcoming State Assembly polls.

He was speaking at a rally in the city.

Pawar said the ‘conflict’ in BJP-Shiv Sena, mismanagement in seat-sharing, rebels in the alliance and difference within the party leaders are the reasons for his prediction.

Pawar said, “The people are unhappy with the BJP-Shiv Sena alliance. The government could not solve a single problem in the last five years. Farmer suicides and unemployment has increased. Farmers do not get crop insurance and the government has only given assurances. In the last five years, the BJP-Shiv Sena government has done nothing for farmers and now they are giving assurances of loan waiver to the farmers.”

Pawar appealed to the citizens to defeat the saffron alliance.

“The time has come to defeat the BJP-Shiv Sena alliance. Everyone should keep aside differences and work together to beat the alliance.”

He said the NCP and the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) are supporting each other in some constituencies. “Both parties have decided where to field candidates. Therefore, Vilas Lande is the official candidate of NCP and we have decided to support independent candidate Sanjay Shinde in Karmala constituency.”
