“The bus left the station at 2.20 pm for Dadar. However, after travelling some distance it broke down near Sarvatra Vihar Chowk in Khadki. The passengers in the bus were accommodated in other Shivneri buses plying on the same route. The driver, conductor and the mechanic repaired the bus by late evening. At 8.30 pm, the driver was ferrying the bus to Pune station. He was taking a U-turn when two persons waiting at the PMPML stop were hit by the door of the dickey which was open. It’s not clear if the dickey door remained open after it was repaired or had opened when the U-turn was being taken. We are investigating the incident to determine the cause behind this unfortunate incident,” said Dnyaneshwar Ranaware, MSRTC Divisional Traffic Officer for Pune division.
