Amruta Fadnavis feels Mumbai had misplaced its ‘humanity’ and was ‘no safer to live’ looking at the way the city police was handling the case of late Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput

Mumbai: The wife of Former Chief minister Devendra Fadnavis, Amruta Fadnavis on Tuesday tweeted which stated that Mumbai had misplaced its ‘humanity’ and was ‘no safer to live’ looking at the way the city police was handling the case of late Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput.

Amruta Fadnavis in her tweet said,"The manner in which Sushant Singh Rajput Death Case is being handled-I feel Mumbai has lost humanity and is no more safe to live for innocent, self respecting citizens.”

The tweet invited a counterattack from Shiv Sena and NCP leaders who claimed Amruta Fadnavis was evaluating that police force of which she is a protected.

In a counter to Amruta Fadnaviss, Shiv Sena Rajya Sabha MP Priyanka Chaturvedi said, "I challenge these state BJP leaders and their political aspiration bearing family accusing Mumbai Police and defaming them, to give up their police security go for private agencies who can make them feel safe in the city. As wife of former CM who was also HM to speak this way is shameful."

Earlier on July 31, Devendra Fadnavis had also asked for a CBI inquiry in the matter. "There is a huge public sentiment about handing over #SushantSinghRajput case to CBI but looking at the reluctance of State Government, at least @dir_ed ED can register an ECIR since misappropriation and money laundering angle has come out," Devendran Fadnavis had tweeted.
