Shiv Sena and BJP take potshots at each other

MUMBAI: The political drama started on Friday was started as usual with Shiv Sena spokesperson Sanjay Raut’s interview at Saamna office at Prabhadevi. He firmly demanded the chief minister’s post. He warned the BJP if they are ready to give chief ministers’ post to Shiv Sena, only then, BJP can approach Shiv Sena.

In the afternoon, Shiv Sena Chief Uddhav Thackeray called a meeting of district chiefs of the party at Shiv Sena Bhavan. In the meeting, he clearly said to district chiefs of Shiv Sena that the party is firm on the equal power sharing and chief minister for Shiv Sena. “There will be a chief minister of Shiv Sena,” he said.

He further directed them to go to their districts and start work for the farmers. He told them that they should start help centres for farmers in their districts.

Later, Thackeray visited Hotel Rang Sharada at Bandra, where his party’s MLA have been kept since Friday. In the afternoon, Republican Party of India Chief and Union minister Ramdas Athavale met NCP Chief Sharad Pawar at his residence Silver Oak on Peddar Road. He discussed various options and legal issues over the political scenario in the state.

After the meeting, Pawar said that Athavale will urge the BJP to form a government.  

In the evening, Minister Ashish Shelar and Sanjay Kute met Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari.

After the minister’s meeting with Governor, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis reached Raj Bhavan to tender his resignation.

In the meantime, Shiv Sena spokesperson Sanjay Raut again went to Silver Oak to meet Sharad Pawar. In this meeting, Pawar and Raut watched the announcement of Devendra Fadnavis regarding his resignation.

After chief minister’s press conference at Sahyadri Guest House, where he made allegations against Uddhav Thackeray, Shiv Sena chief called media persons at Sena Bhavan and refuted all allegations made by Fadnavis. He further cleared that he doesn’t want to keep relations with liars.
