After his meeting here in the morning with senior Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut, Sharad Pawar told journalists that he was not keen on being the chief minister of the state again.

"The BJP and Shiv Sena should form the government soon. We will function  as a responsible opposition," he said.

He reiterated this his party and the Congress have got the mandate to be a "responsible opposition".

"I have been the chief minister 4 times and am not keen on that post again," Sharad Pawar said.

To a question, the Maratha strongman said he had no clue about the decision taken by the Congress on the political situation in Maharashtra.

Asked regarding the meeting of senior Congress leader Ahmed Patel and Union Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari in Delhi on Wednesday,  Sharad Pawar said, "It must be regarding  some road work".

They won 161 seats together in the 288-member House, much above the midway mark of 145.

Besides, the opposition NCP won fifty four seats while the Congress got fourt four seats.
