Mumbai: Giving nightmares to Bharatiya Janata Party, Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut yet again has attacked BJP in a subtle way. With pun included, through his official twitter account, Raut tweeted a cartoon which was trending the entire day on Friday.
Likewise, the Sena's mouthpiece Saamana's headline on its front page, saying that Uddhav Thackeray-led party has the "keys to power" in Maharashtra on Friday added to the woes.
The cartoon depicts a tiger wearing a clock locket. Apparently, the tiger was Sena's symbol and the clock which just ticked life into the dying Nationalist Congress Party (NCP). Least to sat it was its symbol. But then it was Raut who has always been extremely critical about BJP. He did not stop by showing the tiger wearing the locket but further appended it with tiger sniffing the lotus, the BJP symbol.
After hurling this nasty comment, Raut captioned it as 'bura na maano Diwali hai', (Don't feel bad, its Diwali). It was no surprised that the comment has underlined link with the recent comment by former chief minister of state Prithviraj Chavan. He had said in a rally on Thursday about a 'surprise in a store', for BJP with a combination of Sena, NCP and Congress joining hands to keep BJP away from the throne.
In the 288-member Assembly, the BJP won 105 seats, while Sena won 56. similarly, NCP won on 54 seats and the Congress managed to get 44 seats. On the contrary, during 2014 polls, the BJP had won 122 seats, the Sena 63, the Congress 42 and the NCP 41.
In terms of increase in the number of seats compared to the 2014 polls, the Sharad Pawar-led NCP emerged as the largest gainer, while the BJP's tally took a considerable dip.
