Ram Temple: Celebrate Diwali on August 5, mass celebrations should be avoided, says BJP state President

Pune: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will lay the foundation of the grand temple at Shri Ram Janmasthan in Ayodhya which is happening on Wednesday and on this important day of life it should be celebrated by everyone on a personal level like Diwali in every house. However, mass celebrations should be avoided and one should keep in mind the COVID-19 outbreak, appealed State President of Bharatiya Janata Party, Chandrakant Patil on Monday while addressing the people of the state and BJP workers.

Chandrakant Patil said that, “August 5 is an important day in the life of all of us. We lived for the sake of a grand temple at the birthplace of Shri Ram in Ayodhya. The foundation of that Ram temple will be laid at the hands of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. We would have celebrated the founding laying ceremony of the temple with much fanfare on any other normal day but considering the seriousness of the Coronavirus pandemic, everyone should celebrate it on an individual level.”

He said, “The day of the foundation stone laying ceremony of the temple should be celebrated on a grand scale while treating it as if it is Diwali is at home. Light lamps at your house, erect a Gudhi, put up lanterns on the house, place earthen lamps in front of the house and draw rangolis and the Bhumi Pujan should be watched on TV with all the family members at home. The mass celebration on August 5 should be avoided. If the festival is to be celebrated on a mass scale then the permission of the administration should be sought for it. Corona should be kept in mind even in mass celebrations. No drums or firecrackers at all.”

Patil on the recovery of Amit Shah said, “Union Home Minister and former National President of BJP Amit Shah has tested positive for COVID-19 and it has created a lot of anxiety in my mind. Amitbhai also has faith in Goddess Ambabai of Kolhapur. We pray at the feet of Goddess Ambabai's that Amitbhai's health may soon be restored and that he may resume his normal pace of work soon.”
