Prakash Ambedkar warns of protest if government fails to decide on lifting lockdown

Pune: Vanchit Bahujan Aghadi President Prakash Ambedkar has warned that his party will launch a protest if the state government doesn’t take any concrete decision on lifting a lockdown.

“Many citizens of the Maharashtra state have lost their jobs due to lockdown during the COVID-19 pandemic. So, the question has now arisen how they will survive in such a critical situation. Many workers are still on the verge of becoming unemployed. Therefore, start local public transport and all kinds of shops with State Transport (ST) service in the state as soon as possible, otherwise, we will march to the streets after August 10,” said Prakash Ambedkar.

Ambedkar further said, “The Hawkers, sellers are starving. Today, state transport is also facing problems and undergoing a big crisis. It has been reported that 10,000 people will be removed from ST departments. ST employees have not been paid for two months. So, we ask the government to create Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). The government should tell the date when ST buses will run on the road. Also, tell us when the public transport system of various municipalities will be started. If the government does not make this clear, we will never be on the streets after August 10.”

Prime Minister Narendra Modi had announced to provide food grains to 80 crore families in the country. However, it has not been received yet. Ration shops were not getting grain as per the rules. However, the central government has to tell how many people felt the ration in an illegal manner.

Uddhav Thackeray should be the leader of the people. He said, “It is easy to become a great leader for caste, and can also be a leader of religion. However, it is advised that Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray must show his leadership skills and he should show people’s leader.”
