MUMBAI: The first day of the State assembly session on Monday was marred by ruckus in both the houses, as members of opposition BJP tried to corner the government over the issue of crop loan waiver.
BJP MLAs staged agitation on the steps of the Vidhan Bhavan condemning the government over non fulfillment of the assurances made by the government.
Speaker Nana Patole appealed to BJP members not to get agitated and Leader of Opposition Devendra Fadnavis keet alleging that the government had cheated the farmers.
He alleged that the government has assured that the farmers will get Rs 25,000 to Rs 50,000, whereas in reality, not a single paisa has been credited to their account.
“No list of beneficiary farmers has been published and the government is cheating the farmers,” said Fadnavis.
“Women are being targeted in the State and atrocities against woman had increased and the government is insensitive,” he alleged. While Fdnavis was talking, other BJP members were shouting slogans.
Speaker Nana Patole continued the business and passed the supplementary demands and a condolence proposal. Then he adjourned the house for the day.
RUCKUS IN COUNCIL
As the house convened, opposition party members started shouting slogans. In the chaos, opposition leader Pravin Darekar tried to table an adjournment motion over the issues of atrocities against women and farm loan waiver. However, Speaker Ramraje Nimbalkar rejected the motion. Nimbalkar asked Darekar to raise these issues under other provisions. But the opposition party members tried to come into the well and created a ruckus in the house.
As the bedlam continued, Nimbalkar adjourned the house for the day.
