No school till coronavirus vaccine developed, demands parents’ association

Starting school amidst the coronavirus crisis is the biggest challenge in front of government and administrative system. Meanwhile, the government has postponed the decision of starting schools till July. But parents are firm on the opinion that till the time vaccine for coronavirus is not developed, schools should remain closed. Regarding this parents have also started signing an online petition.

Discussion of reopening the schools is already making a buzz. Government, administrative system, schools and education officers are considering the matter with scrutiny. Parents are worried about the decision due to which parents’ association has started an online movement on “Change.org” stating that schools should remain closed until the vaccine gets developed or the cases are zero. This petition received massive response and on Tuesday more than 4 lakh people supported this petition.

Recently lockdown 4.0 got over and “Unlock 0.1” was started. Even though the government has postponed the decision to start the schools, through online movement lakhs of parents showed their opposition to start schools before developing the vaccine for the infection. Parents mentioned in the online petition that once the conditions are totally under control then the government may consider the decision to start the schools.

Ankush Pawar, a parent, said, “Coronavirus is not fully under control yet. There is no vaccine available for it. Therefore the government should not consider the decision to start school even if it’s June or July. They must think about the decision by considering all the details even if they have postponed the decision to start schools in July.” He further added that “Until the time vaccine for Coronavirus gets developed schools must remain closed.”

EXAMS OF FINAL YEAR STUDENTS GET CANCELLED

Earlier on Sunday, Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray announced the cancellation of final year exams. Earlier, students except final year were promoted to the next year but now the government has also declared the cancellation of final year exams. As Maharashtra remains worst-hit state due to coronavirus this decision has been taken. But the government is receiving criticism from the experts of education field as well as students stating that this is an act of “interference” in the jurisdiction of universities.
