New special trains during Ganesh fest

Pune: The Central Railway (CR) will run special trains between Pune and Zarap and CSMT and Sawantwadi Road during the Ganpati festival. The CR will also augments a few special trains already announced with additional coaches to clear the extra rush of passengers.

According to railway officials, train number 01421 will leave Pune at 11.30 pm on September 10 and arrive in Zarap at 2.45 pm next day. Similarly, train number 01422 will leave Zarap at 3.30 pm on September 11 and arrive in Pune at 6 am next day.

The train will halt at Chinchwad, Lonavla, Panvel, Roha, Mangaon, Khed, Chiplun, Savarde, Sangameshwar Road, Ratnagiri, Vilavade, Rajapur Road, Vaibhavwadi Road, Kankavali, Sindhudurg and Kudal. It will have one AC-2 tier, three AC-3 tier, six sleeper class and six general second class coaches.

Train number 01013 will leave the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) Mumbai at 9.20 pm on September 13 and arrive at Sawantwadi Road at 9.30 am the next day. Similarly, train number 01014 will leave Sawantwadi Road at 10 am on September 14 and arrive in CSMT Mumbai at 11 pm the same day.

The train will travel via Dadar (for 01014 only), Thane, Panvel, Roha, Mangaon, Khed, Chiplun, Savarde, Sangameshwar Road, Ratnagiri, Rajapur Road, Kankavali, Sindhudurg, Kudal and Zarap. It will have one first AC cum AC-2 tier, two AC-3 tier, four sleeper class and five general second class coaches.

Bookings for special trains on special charges leaving CSMT/Pune/Sawantwadi Road/ Zarap will open at all PRS centres and on website www.irctc.co.in from August 2. General second class in these trains will run as unreserved coaches and tickets can be booked through the UTS. Also, special trains to Konkan, 01447/01448 Pune-Sawantwadi Road and 01149/01450 Panvel-Ratnagiri-Pune special will have additional coaches of one AC 3 tier and one general second class.
