“The car shed needs 30 acres of land. At Jogeshwari there is a parade ground of State Reserve Police (SRP), which is 41 acres. The car shed can be shifted there,” Malik suggested.

MUMBAI: NCP leader Nawab Malik on Sunday suggested a new location for a metro car shed at Jogeshwari.

Chief Minister Uddhav Thackray stayed the work of Metro car shed in the first meeting after taking charge as chief minister

On Sunday as the House began its session, Malik said the government had stayed the work on Metro car shed at Aarey. “The car shed needs 30 acres of land. At Jogeshwari there is a parade ground of State Reserve Police (SRP), which is 41 acres. The car shed can be shifted there,” Malik suggested.

NCP MLA Jitendra Awhad requested the government to withdraw the cases filed against the students who staged a protest at Aarey. “The police have registered cases against 22 students for the protest, that should be withdrawn,” Awhad said.
