Mumbai: Shops in city can remain open on all days

The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) authorities on Monday made an adjustment to the circular on the phase-wise lockdown restrictions, which were imposed earlier to curtail the spread of the novel coronavirus crisis, in Mumbai under the Maharashtra government’s Mission Begin Again campaign and have allowed all shops to remain open on all days.

All the shops in the city will be permitted to remain in operation between 9 am to 7 pm. The administration has scrapped the odd-even formula in the city. The Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai in its circular stated, “It is directed that all shops shall remain open on all days on all sides of the road irrespective of even and odd in Annexure-II.” The circular also stated that shopping malls and market complexes can operate between 9 am to 7 pm from Wednesday. Also, the kitchen of restaurants and food courts will operate but only for parcels and online delivery.

Also, the municipal corporation of Mumbai has stated those who seen violating the norms of lockdown will face a strict action under the relevant sections.
