Mumbai: Earthquake of 3.5 magnitude hits Palghar; no casualties

A mild earthquake measuring 3.5 on the Richter Scale hit Palghar, Mumbai on Monday. The earthquake tremors were felt 102 km north of Mumbai, as per details given by the National Centre for Seismology (NCS). There was no report of loss of life or injuries amid the earthquake.

The NCS said, "Earthquake of Magnitude:3.5, Occurred on 07-09-2020, 08:07:19 IST, Lat: 19.99 & Long: 72.80, Depth: 5 Km ,Location: 102km N of Mumbai, Maharashtra.” India Today, quoted an official as saying that On Saturday, four low-intensity earthquakes were experienced in Palghar district of Maharashtra. The tremors were recorded from Friday night till the early hours of Saturday.

Three low-intensity earthquakes had hit regions round Mumbai in a span of around 24 hours on September 4-5.
