MNS to hold ‘1- minute Horn Ok’ agitation today against Maha Vikas Aghadi

Mumbai: Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) Transport wing has organised a 1-minute honking agitation on Friday evening 5 pm to bring to the governments attention various demands of the transport sector which is badly affected by the stringent lockdown in Mumbai.

The MNS Vahatuk Sena will come on road protesting against the Maha Vikas Aghadi government to press for several demands of transporters and workers. The government has given permission to companies like Ola and Uber to resume transport services in Mumbai, however, it has ignored other players in the sector. The government should consider all stakeholders while taking decisions, the MNS Vahatuk Sena has stated.

Sanjay Naik of the MNS Vahatuk Sena said, "The government should immediately announce financial aid for the transport sector. We are protesting today in an innovative way to wake up the government and seek their attention towards various issues affecting the transport sector."

"Taxi, Auto drivers and other players in the transport sectors have had to bear financial losses due to the three-month-long lockdown. The government is pretending to sleep while the transport sector is reeling under pressure from lockdown woes. We have to wake this government up and hence we have organised the one-minute honk agitation. We have also created #MNSHornOKPlease for social media platforms," Naik said.

DEMANDS OF MNS

  • Make policy announcements for the transport sector.
  • Give permission for taxi and auto drivers on lines of Ola and Uber companies.
  • Announce a financial aid package for the transport sector.
