MLA wants Priyanka to kick-start Congress’ election campaign from Nandurbar district

MUMBAI: A Congress MLA wants the party’s newly appointed General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra to kick-start the campaign for General Election as well as her entry in active politics from  Nandurbar district.

The MLA has written a letter requesting the same to Congress President Rahul Gandhi.  The MLA further said in the letter that Indira Gandhi, Rajiv Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi launched their election campaigns in the past from the same place.

KC Padavi, MLA from Akkalkuwa in Nandurbar and senior party leader from the Scheduled Tribe community said that Priyanka’s entry into active politics has filled the people of Nandurbar with excitement which cannot be explained in words. “They see her as the second Indira Gandhi and the stage is set for her first speech in Nandurbar,” it said.

Padavi said that the people of the district are demanding that both Rahul and Priyanka kick-start the party’s election campaign from Nandurbar. “If the party holds it’s first political rally in Nandurbar, then the Congress is destined to form the government at the Centre,” he said in the letter.
