From medicines to food, helping hands doing their bit

In these times of distress, many people and organisations have come up to help the needy.

Pune: As the country and the state is under lockdown 3.0, from providing adequate health facilities to helping the stranded migrants reaching their home town, many organisations have come together to help the needy in this time of distress.

Against the backdrop of the coronavirus, the central government has started special labour trains for the migrant's labourers to facilitate their travel to their home state. For this, the workers have to go to the police station to get the passes and the Sangharsh Social Foundation is helping the workers to apply for digital passes for their convenience.

Aadhar cards, medical certificates and other documents of the workers are being uploaded for the digital pass and the foundation is helping the migrants by providing free health checkup and other support to the migrants so that they do not face any problems. 

Face Shields were given to the members of Pune Shramik Patrakar Sangh by the Nationalist Congress Party Doctors Cell. The NCP Welfare Trust is also distributing 1.5 lakh face shields to doctors and health workers in the state.

"Face shields are being given to all the doctors who are bravely providing medical services during the crisis of Coronavirus. Face shields were distributed through 16 medical associations in Pune. This face shield is also being given to the journalists as they are working to cover the adverse conditions, 'said Dr Sunil Jagtap

A group of friends have come together to serve the daily wagers who have lost their job due to the lockdown. Under 'Lockdown - 1 Meal A Day', they serve lunch to around 600-650 people every day. Around 300 people collect food from their society gate Icon Linera near Bhumkar chowk. Around five women and 10 men take turns in cooking the meals.

Pritam Ganjewar and Gajanan Ganjewar, Directors of Pritam Group have distributed 10,000 masks for the safety of officers and employees of Pune Municipal Corporation. They have also distributed a total of 51000 masks and a large number of sanitizers for the safety of doctors, police officers, traffic police, needy citizens, security guards and various other government and semi-government employees in Pune. They have also donated foot kits to 1100 needy families in Pune and Nanded.

Another organisation Khadki Kalibari Samiti is also working and helping the needy in the time of distress. They have donated food packets to the to SOFOSH ( Society of Friends of Sasson Hospital) This is a unit of Sasson Hospital in Pimple Gurav looking at.
