Maharashtra State board uploads model question bank for Std XI students

Pune: The Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHSE) has uploaded sets of model question banks on its website, to help the students get acquainted with the new pattern of question papers that will be introduced for Std XI students of Science stream from this year.

To prepare the students belonging to the state board better for answering the competitive examinations like JEE and NEET, the Council of Boards of School Education (COBSE) India directed all state boards to bring their evaluation method on par with these exams. Thus, while Std XI will have the new pattern of question paper from this academic year, the Std XII students will have to answer the new pattern question paper from 2018-19 examination.

The state board has developed the sets of model questions, to familiarise the students with the changed evaluation pattern.
The practice question banks are available for Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Mathematics. These are designed by teachers and have been studied and verified by experts in the field before being published on the board website from where the students can access them.

According to the circular from the board, these question banks will help students develop better reasoning power, give them the practice of solving the new pattern of question papers and also help teachers at the junior colleges design new innovative types of questions.

The circular from the board also states that a similar model question bank for Std XII will soon be uploaded on the website.
