State Rural Development Minister Hasan Mushrif has demanded that the Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari should be removed from his post

Solapur: State Rural Development Minister Hasan Mushrif has demanded that the Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari should be removed from his post as he is interfering in decisions taken by the Cabinet and Chief Minister. We are going to write to Prime Minister Narendra Modi demanding Koshyari's removal from the post. It is learnt that this issue was discussed in the Cabinet meeting on Thursday (June 4).

Mushrif said, "Be it the direct election of a Sarpanch or farmers voting rights in the Agricultural Produce Market Committee, the changes made to these rules by the then Devendra Fadnavis government were revoked. The Maha Vikas Aghadi had decided to conduct elections as per previous rules and this ordinance was later sent to Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari for his signature. But he deliberately delayed the approval process. Koshyari's bias was evident during the government formation days too."

"The Governor is expected to give his signature and approval to state governments decisions. National leader like Sharad Pawar also met him and made him understand his constructive role. But Koshyari's conduct has remained obstructive towards the state government. Recently, CM Uddhav Thackeray took a decision in the interest of final year students and parents but the Governor has opposed this decision too," Mushrif added.

While expressing confidence that the decision regarding cancellation of final year exams will prevail, Mushrif said, "CM Thackeray is a gentleman and does not want to create a fuss over such issues. On the background of coronavirus pandemic he had decided to cancel the examinations of final year students. Even the students and their parents were happy about this decision. Everybody is supporting CM Thackeray's decision and it will prevail."
