Maharashtra Government launches website on coronavirus

The government had hosted all information about the efforts taken by the district administration to tackle the COVID 19, patients cited from the disease and released from the hospital.

MUMBAI: Now citizens will get all information about Corona pandemic and other related issues like camps for stranded people at various places. The Publicity Department of the State government has developed a website — https://www.mahainfocorona.in/ where all information about the pandemic is available.

The government had hosted all information about the efforts taken by the district administration to tackle the COVID 19, patients cited from the disease and released from the hospital.

Social media is spreading wrong information, misleading the people. To give accurate information to the people, the department has started the website.

Maharashtra is the worst-affected state in India with 1,135 cases. Globally, the death toll surpassed 88,500; the number of infected cases has crossed the 1.5 million mark.

PMC APP
Event the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has started tracking home-quarantined patients and persons with foreign travel history through the mobile application it has developed. Over 50 home-quarantined patients have downloaded the app, while the PMC has sent messages to thousands of citizens to download it.

The application tracks home-quarantined patients and restricts them from stepping out of their homes. It will alert civic officials if the home-quarantined patients move outside their homes.

AAROGYA APP
In the wake of the pandemic, Government of India, too, recently launched the Aarogya Setu application to track the real-time movements of individuals to regulate if they have been in the proximity of COVID-19 positive patients.

Within a week of its launch, the Aarogya Setu app has crossed over crore downloads on Google Play Store. The app has also become one of the top free apps in the country on both Google Play and the iOS App Store.

Globally, the infected cases have surpassed the 1.5 million mark, whereas the death toll has crossed 88,500. In India, the cases are nearing the 6,000 mark with close to 90 per cent remaining active cases.
