PUNE: Shiv Sena leader and State Minister for Water Resources Vijay Shivtare criticised the alliance partner Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) for considering Parth Pawar and Dr Sujay Vikhe-Patil for Lok Sabha candidature. He said both Parth and Sujay have the same qualification that they are sons of senior political leaders.
On the background of the Lok Sabha election, Shivtare was in Pune to interact with the media. He said both Vikhe-Patil’s son and former deputy CM Ajit Pawar’s son Parth have not done any social work. He said they should work for at least 10 years for society before any party considers them for a Lok Sabha seat.
Dr Sujay Vikhe-Patil has joined the BJP and he may get the party ticket for Ahmednagar Lok Sabha constituency. The NCP has stated that candidature will be awarded to Parth Pawar from Maval Lok Sabha constituency.
Shivtare said social media posts are continuously hammering that Sujay Vikhe-Patil is a doctor. He said there are many doctors working in the society.
He criticised MP Supriya Sule saying, “She is unsuccessful in Baramati Lok Sabha constituency. She distributed bicycles, sewing machines and footwear to people. This is not the work of MP, but of mandal workers. Sule won Lok Sabha elections in 2014 because she got highest votes in Baramati compared to other assembly segments.”
“Pawar has done a lot of work but he has not done much in Madha so people are unhappy. As Pawar knew this, he decided not to contest elections from Madha,” said Shivtare.
