LokSabha 2019: 156 candidates in fray from Mumbai

MUMBAI: There are total 156 candidates in the fray from Mumbai’s all six Lok Sabha constituencies. Tuesday was the last day for filing nomination, where 220 nominations forms received by the city and suburban collector. 

After scrutiny, 14 nomination form were found invalid and now, 156 contestants are contesting Lok Sabha elections from six constituencies in Mumbai. 

From South Mumbai there are 17 nominations received out of which 2 forms were declared invalid after scrutiny, now only 15 candidates are in the race. 

In South Central Mumbai, 44 nomination forms were filed by the candidates of various parties out of which 12 forms found invalid, now 32 are in the race. 

From North-East Mumbai, a total of 33 candidates have filed their nominations. 

From Mumbai North constituency, 22 candidates have filed their nominations to contest the Lok Sabha elections while 27 candidates are contesting from Mumbai North-West. 

Moreover, 27 candidates have filed their nominations to contest from Mumbai North Central. 

The candidates can withdraw their papers till April 12. The LS polls in Mumbai will be held in the fourth phase on April 29. In Mumbai, 2,601 polling booths will be set up in 527 locations.

After scrutiny, 14 nomination form were found invalid and now, 156 contestants are contesting Lok Sabha elections from six constituencies in Mumbai.
