Heavy rains in Nashik

Nashik: Heavy rainfall caused flooding in parts of the city as the condition on the banks of the Godavari river were especially bad following incessant rains since Thursday night.  

Good rains were registered in the catchment area of various dams in the district. This rainfall in catchment area help increase the water storage in dams. The water level in Gangapur dam, which supplies water to the city has also increased. The low laying area was flooded due to continued rain. 

One of the parked cars near Gadge Maharaj bridge which was washed away in the Godavari river, was managed to catch the vehicle safely. 

The highest rainfall was recorded in Igatpuri taluka 193.2 mm while in Nashik district total rainfall was 751.1 mm today. 

Following is the taluka-wise rain in the district recorded in last 24 hours -- Nashik, 48.2 mm, Igatpuri 193.2 mm, Dindori 36 mm, Trimbakeshwar 125 mm, Dindori 25 mm, Peth 83 mm, Surgana 111 mm, Nifad 11.4 mm, Sinnar 20 mm, Chandwad 15.4 mm, Deola 22.1 mm, Yeola 12.00 mm, Malegaon 7.00 mm, Baglan 31 mm, and Kalvan 53 mm.
