Digi Thane wins Central govt’s national level Best Digital City Project Award

THANE: Digi Thane, a digital project by Thane Municipal Corporation recently received the Best Digital City Project Award instituted by the Central Government. 

Thane Smart City Limited Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Sameer Unhale received the award from Minister of Housing And Urban Affairs Hardeep Singh Puri under the City Empowering India programme held at New Delhi recently. 

Thane Smart City Limited has done the outstanding work of increasing the digital connectivity between government agencies and private sectors. It was successful in providing services from citizens to government, businesses to citizens, and citizens to citizens among others. 

Digi Thane, through the digital system, updated the citizens about its various schemes besides the cultural and social developments taking place in the city. Besides that the discount coupons of popular shops and hotels were made available to the citizens. Digi Thane has been useful for the fitness-conscious Thane residents to get health tips and also for providing educational information for the students.

Thane residents give suggestions through Digi Thane about the projects that were needed to be implemented in the city. There have been programmes which have helped schoolchildren, youths, service men and retired persons that were implemented through Digi Thane. 

Programmes like how to take care if a person suffers from sunstroke, Yoga workshops, quiz competitions for children, blood donation camps, and Youth Icon among others have been held.
