Coronavirus Maharashtra: Rs 50 lakh aid for kin of police officials who die while on duty

MUMBAI: The Maharashtra state government announced Rs 50 lakh as ex-gratia to the family of the police personnel who die on duty due to the novel coronavirus.

Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar on Thursday announced that the police are working for the safety of the people and often get targeted by agitated people. “If any police personnel dies due to corona while serving his duty, his family will be compensated with Rs 50 lakh,” said Pawar.

Pawar also said that the remaining salary of March would be given to employees from the Public Health Department, Revenue Department and Medical Educational Department and Police Department on a priority basis.
