City temp set to rise from today

Pune: As the chill continues in the city, Pune reported a minimum temperature of 9.6 degrees Celsius on Saturday. 

As per the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the temperature is set to increase from Sunday in the city. The day temperature on Saturday was 30.4 degree Celsius.

As per the Met department, the night temperature in the city on January 19 will be 10 degrees Celsius and day temperature will be around 29 degrees Celsius. The sky will be clear.

However, post that, the night, as well as day temperature, is set to increase with cloudy skies till January 24.

On Saturday, the lowest minimum temperature recorded in the State was at Nashik at 7.8 degrees Celsius.

As per IMD, on January 21, isolated parts of Vidarbha may experience rainfall. Whereas Konkan and Goa, central Maharashtra and Marathwada will experience dry weather during the same time.

National scenario

  • The lowest minimum temperature recorded over the plains on Saturday was at 3.6 degrees Celsius at Amritsar in Punjab.
  • According to the predictions made by the Met department, cold day conditions are very likely in isolated pockets over Punjab, Haryana and Chandigarh, Delhi and west Madhya Pradesh on January 19.
  • On the same day, cold wave conditions are very likely in isolated pockets over north Rajasthan and Saurashtra and Kutch.
  • On January 21 and January 22, cold day conditions are likely in isolated pockets over Himachal Pradesh.
