“In a democracy, people’s mandate is always supreme and we respect it. Now, we expect the new government to fulfill the people’s expectations,” Ashok Chavan said.

MUMBAI: After NDA’s victory in the Lok Sabha elections became clear, Congress State President Ashok Chavan accepted the people’s mandate and took responsibility for the party’s defeat. He said the Congress faced the defeat due to Vanchit Bahujan Aghadi (VBA),  “as the Aghadi helped the communal parties in the election.”

“In the last five years, the Congress has continuously fought for the people in the run-up to the polls, but failed to succeed. Even though we were defeated, I am still grateful to the voters, who participated in the voting process and the party workers who tried their best to win the election.”

“In a democracy, people’s mandate is always supreme and we respect it. Now, we expect the new government to fulfill the people’s expectations,” Ashok Chavan said.

Speaking about Nanded constituency, he said the people of Nanded have always given love to the Chavan family. “But unfortunately they need change, so we also respect their sentiments,” he said.

“This election was important to save the Constitution and in the process, Vanchit Bahujan Aghadi damaged the secular ideology and helped the communal parties. Due to the Vanchit Bahujan Aghadi, the Congress has to face the failure in the election,” Chavan alleged.
