Admissions to first year BAMS, BUMS and BHMS postponed

Pune: The candidates who are interested in admission to first year undergraduate Ayurved (BAMS), Unani (BUMS) and Homoeopathy (BHMS) courses in Maharashtra will have to wait for little longer, as Directorate of Medical Education and Research (DMER) has notified that the schedule of admission process for these courses will be declared later.

DMER has stated that after Ministry of AYUSH, New Delhi and Maharashtra University of Health Science (MUHS), Nashik in Maharashtra releases the details of the number of colleges permitted to run these courses, the schedule of the admission process to above said courses will be declared.

“Permission of many AYUSH Colleges is still awaited. It is hereby notified for all concerned candidates who are interested in admission to first year undergraduate BAMS, BUMS and BHMS courses in Maharashtra State through NEET-UG 2018 that the detailed schedule of admission process will be declared later.

After receiving permission of sizeable number of colleges from Ministry of AYUSH and Maharashtra University of Health Sciences, Nashik,” said Dr Manik Gursal (IAS), Commissioner and Competent Authority, State CET Cell, Maharashtra

The admission process for MBBS and BDS (UG courses) had got delayed due to compliance with various court directions. However, after the Supreme Court gave nod to the second round of counselling for MBBS and BDS had resumed which ended on August 8. Students are expected to join their courses before August 31.
