21 MPSC aspirants leave Pune for Ahmednagar

Pune: The first batch of 21 students preparing for competitive exams in the Pune left for their hometown on Thursday after the Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) arranged a bus to Ahmednagar.

These aspirants were preparing for Maharashtra Public Service Commission (MPSC) entrance exam in Pune.

MSRTC divisional controller Pune Yamini Joshi informed that the bus departed from Swargate bus stand at noon.

“The buses will ply daily, carrying several students from the city to different districts from where the students belong. The buses will be arranged as per the list of students provided by the district collector’s office,” said Joshi.

She also informed that the students had arrived at the bus stand at around 10 am. The doctors checked all the students before boarding the bus. They also have a No Objection Certificate (NOC) issued by Ahmednagar district collector and Pune district collector.

MPSC aspirant Vikas Netke (24) who boarded the bus on Thursday said, “We all were checked at the stand, and so far there is no problem. We have been told once we reach Ahmednagar bus stand, we will be checked again.”

“The seating arrangement in the bus is one person on the seat. Nobody is seated close or next to each other. We have been given water bottles and food for the journey,” he said.

The students/aspirants who wanted to go home had filled a form a few days back, giving their address details to the Pune district collector. Accordingly, the arrangements have been made.

Some students are eagerly waiting for communication from the district administration regarding their travel. A candidate from Gadchiroli said, “It has been seven days we have filled the form but haven’t received any information about our travel yet. Our friends told us a bus for Ahmednagar left today. So we are hoping that we’ll also be able to go back home soon.”
