‘State, Centre must allocate more funds’

Pune: “The Central and the State governments should allocate more funds for education in their respective budgets,” said Deputy Chief Minister, Government of NCT of Delhi, Manish Sisodia. He was speaking at the Commencement Ceremony of the 15th batch of MIT School of Government’s Masters Programme in Political Leadership Government.

Addressing the students, Sisodia further said, “Education has to be the backbone of any country, as proper value-based education is the solution to end all violence and terrorism going on around us. Delhi government has taken active steps to ensure that educational infrastructure in every school becomes world-class and the 44 lakh students in Delhi are benefited by it.”

MP, spokesperson and parliamentary leader of Biju Janata Dal Adv Pinaki Misra, Shiv Sena Deputy Leader Priyanka Chaturvedi, MIT-SOG Founder Prof Rahul V Karad of MIT World Peace University and Vice Chancellor Dr S Parasuraman, MAEER’s MIT Dean SS Darade, Registrar Grp Capt (Retd) DP Apte, Faculty of Commerce and Economics Dean Prof Dr S Haridas and MIT World Peace University Founder President Prof Dr Vishwanath Karad were present on the occasion.

Misra said, “We are hopeful that the 17th Lok Sabha will pass the Women Reservation Bill and we are confident that in this wave of reforms, the Prime Minister will give priority to this bill too. The Chief Minister of Odisha Naveen Patnaik has already implemented  50 per cent reservation for women. This matter should be taken on priority basis so that we can see more women MPs in Lok Sabha.”
